Pacific Power Habitat customers support new restoration efforts

On August 3, 2006, The Nature Conservancy submitted their biannual report for the period ending June 30, 2007.  Pacific Power Habitat customers are now helping to support four new habitat restoration efforts - on Brownie Creek in the South Umpqua watershed, on the Santiam and Calapooia, the Middle Fork of the John Day River; and on Doe Creek in the Wallowas.

The work being funded primarily focuses on increasing in stream structure by placing large logs in the stream channels and removing and replacing culverts to provide season long passage. Oregon Pacific Power Habitat customers have contributed $395,255 to habitat restoration projects since the option became available in 2002. Over seventy percent of these funds have been obligated or expended to projects across the state. Pacific Power and Portland General Electric customers have helped support 40 projects across Oregon, for information on these projects, please click here.
