Energy Gateway

Bringing new transmission to the West

PacifiCorp has launched Energy Gateway -- an ambitious transmission expansion program that will add more than 1,900 miles of new transmission lines across the West. The plan was announced in May 2007 , and siting and permitting processes now are underway for many segments of the planned expansion. Major segments of the estimated $6 billion project are scheduled to come online by 2014. Read more about the overall project in the fact sheet , or for answers to commonly asked questions, view the Frequently Asked Questions sheet .

In addition to the benefits described in the materials above, Energy Gateway will provide access to areas of strong renewable development potential, as shown in these regional maps of windsolarbiomass and geothermal potential. Read more about how Energy Gateway supports renewable resource development in the Energy Gateway and Renewable Resources fact sheet.
