Thief Creek to Silver Creek

Project overview

Energy use is on the rise in the Summit County, Utah, as it is in most of the West. With demand for electricity in the county growing at a rate of seven percent per year, additional electrical capacity is needed to serve the area. Rocky Mountain Power plans to build a project in Summit County, which would consist of a 40-mile transmission line from the Thief Creek substation to the Silver Creek substation, as well as construct a new substation near Coalville. This investment will provide a new source of electricity and improve energy delivery to the communities in the area.

Rocky Mountain Power understands how important it is to develop this project in cooperation with area communities and residents, and to coordinate with the planning efforts of local, state and federal agencies. We're working to minimize impacts to the community and the environment from project development, construction and maintenance.
