Existing Buildings
This program helps Oregon businesses and institutions manage energy use and save money. All non-residential, Pacific Power Oregon customers with office, retail, commercial facilities are eligible. Institutions such as hospitals, governmental facilities and schools are also eligible.

  • Lighting Incentives – Energy Trust offers standard incentives for a variety of lighting fixtures. Custom incentives are also available for lighting projects that save energy using equipment not eligible for our standard incentives.
  • Premium HVAC Incentives – Incentives are available for unitary and split-system air conditioners as well as air-to-air heat pumps. The incentive is based on the rated capacity of the equipment. Efficient HVAC systems not listed may still qualify for custom incentives.
  • Motor Incentives – Efficient electric motors can reduce your monthly energy bill and overall operation cost. Energy Trust offers both standard and custom incentives for qualifying motors.
  • Lodging and Foodservice Equipment Incentives - Energy Trust offers incentives for a variety of ENERGY STAR rated kitchen and lodging equipment including gas fryers, gas convection ovens, electric steamers, freezers, refrigerators, vent hoods, high-efficiency bathroom motion sensor lights and package terminal heat pumps, as well as other approved equipment. Cash incentives will ease the purchase and lower your operating costs.

Production Efficiency
This program offers Oregon industrial customers incentives for improving the energy efficiency of manufacturing processes. All industrial, agricultural, and water and wastewater treatment processes are eligible.

The Production Efficiency program offers standard incentives for the retrofit of lighting and electric motors, and custom incentives for more complex process enhancement changes. Contact the Production Efficiency program.

New Buildings

Energy Trust works to help building owners identify, understand and adopt energy-efficiency practices that can lower operating costs, create a more comfortable space and make the most of a new building or major renovation project. Program specialists work with architects, building designers, engineers and contractors to increase the efficiency of new buildings or major renovation projects well above local building codes and standard practice.

The program offers financial incentives for energy efficiency measures such as energy efficient lighting, heating, and air conditioning equipment, as well as efficient design elements, systems, and construction materials. Here are general incentives for standard and custom projects.

  • Standard Track – $100,000 per project; up to $3,000 of incentives per project may be processed without requiring approval from the program management contractor.  All incentive applications over $3,000 require review and approval prior to purchase of the energy efficiency equipment.
  • Custom Track – Incentives for premium efficiency equipment, energy design assistance and commissioning oversight assistance are based on $0.10 per kwh for energy efficiency measures that pass Energy Trust's benefit-cost test up to $300,000 for custom projects. The Custom Track may be combined with $100,000 in Standard Track incentives, $40,000 in Commissioning incentives and up to $25,000 in Technical Assistance making available up to $465,000 per project.
  • LEED-NC Track - Incentives based on the square footage and the number of Energy & Atmosphere Credit 1 points achieved.
  • ENERGY STAR Track - Incentives are available to eligible projects that achieve the ENERGY STAR National Energy Performance Rating certification from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. To be eligible, facilities must meet certain criteria and achieve an ENERGY STAR rating of 75 or better (on a scale of 1 to 100).

Solar Electric Systems
Businesses, nonprofits and government entities can get up to $100,000 for installing a solar electric system.

Irrigation Initiative Program
Energy Trust is bringing its Irrigation Initiative pilot program to a close in the Klamath Basin in Oregon. Energy Trust and Pacific Power sponsored this Initiative as a pilot effort to assist irrigators in implementing irrigation efficiency measures. For those irrigators in Oregon with pumps also located in California, please note that Pacific Power's nozzle program remains in effect. Energy Trust of Oregon provides incentives throughout its service territory for cost-effective agricultural measures through the Production Efficiency program.

For Oregon irrigators who received an Initiative pump test in 2005 or 2006 and have completed and are pursuing incentives for a pump repair or replacement, please contact Spencer Moersfelder at Energy Trust (503) 445-7635 directly, 1-866-368-7878 toll free or via e-mail at spencer@energytrust.org .

Energy Exchange Program
Energy Exchange is a voluntary load curtailment program designed for customers with one or more megawatts of connected load. It helps address energy market circumstances when a reduction in regional energy use is needed.

Time of Use Program for Small Businesses
This option can save you money if you can shift a significant amount of electricity use to off-peak hours (nights and weekends). With Time of Use, you receive adjustments to basic service based on when you use energy.

Seminars and Training
We often provide our customers with low-cost seminars on topics to help businesses improve the efficiency of their operations. We also partner with other groups to provide efficiency information to businesses.
