Pacific Power files for recovery of net wholesale purchased power costs to serve Wyoming customers

CHEYENNE, Wyo.— Pacific Power today filed a pass-on application with the Wyoming Public Service Commission (PSC) to recover increased net wholesale purchased power costs to serve Wyoming customers. The utility has requested that the PSC issue a notice and order 30 days after the filing. Any rate recovery approved through the pass-on application will provide a direct dollar-for-dollar reduction to the revenue increase requested in Pacific Power’s pending general rate case, filed with the PSC in October.

GE unit taps into wind energy to power its local office

SALT LAKE CITY — GE’s Corporate Payment Services unit is augmenting 30 percent of its power usage with Utah Power’s Blue Sky wind energy, becoming the utility’s latest Visionary partner participant. The company follows GE Healthcare, which signed up for the program last fall.

Donation envelopes were sent to customers in November electricity bills, and will again be included with February Pacific Power bills in Oregon, Wyoming and Washington.

ALBANY, Ore. — The Mid-Willamette Family YMCA received $10,000 from the PacifiCorp Foundation for Learning’s Pacific Power Fund toward its campaign to build a new 40,000 square-foot facility. The existing YMCA building, originally a farm implement company building built in 1944, is woefully inadequate to serve a growing community.

Utah Power officials to present tsunami donation to local American Red Cross

SALT LAKE CITY — The Greater Salt Lake Area Chapter of the American Red Cross will receive a donation of nearly $74,000 for the Red Cross’ International Relief Fund to aid in the agency’s tsunami relief efforts. The donation comes from employees of Utah Power and sister companies Pacific Power and PPM Energy, along with matching funds from the company’s charitable arm, the PacifiCorp Foundation for Learning.
Local lodges contribute to Park City’s
