PORTLAND, Ore. — PacifiCorp announced today that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) on December 29, 2005 issued an order
formally approving the indirect transfer of control of certain remaining nuclear licenses which will occur upon closing of
the acquisition of the company by MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company.
NRC approval of the acquisition is required because PacifiCorp owns a 2.5 percent share in the Trojan Nuclear Plant in Oregon.
The plant has not operated for several years, and is in the process of being decommissioned.
“This is another important approval in the acquisition process.” said Judi Johansen, CEO and President of PacifiCorp.
