CAVE JUNCTION, Ore. — Out 'n' About Treesort, which offers vacationers treetop lodging, has further greened its business by
buying Blue Sky renewable energy from Pacific Power.
Out 'n' About Treesort, located at 300 Page Creek Rd., is paying a little extra each month to help bring more clean energy
into the region. Owner Michael Garnier said, “I don't mind paying more now for renewable energy in the hopes that we as planet
won't pay later".
Pacific Power’s Blue Sky allows customers to help bring more renewable energy into the region. Energy generated from wind,
biomass and geothermal help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Wind produces no air pollutants, wastewater, smog or acid rain.
“The idea of using wind to generate electricity is exciting and is just simply natural,” said Peggy Malone, general manager.
“I believe that we as a nation are notoriously wasteful, and this is a small step to help us move away from waste and pollution.”
Over a year, Out 'n' About Treesort’s Blue Sky purchase reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 12 tons, which has the same environmental
benefit as not driving 27,500 miles or planting 2,340 trees.
According to Out 'n' About Treesort, it has recycling centers throughout its facility. It composts food waste along with horse
manure and recycles it into the gardens. It uses environmentally friendly cleaning products. Plus, it attaches its tree houses
using “the Garnier Limb,” regarded as an environmentally preferred manner for attaching homes to trees. For more information,

It’s easy for any home or business to buy renewable power. Buying just one, 100-kilowatt hour increment of Blue Sky Block
costs only $1.95 per month. Oregon customers can also choose Blue Sky Usage (in which customers receive their equivalent energy
usage from renewable resources) or Blue Sky Habitat (in which customers buy renewable energy, plus make a donation to The
Nature Conservancy of Oregon to preserve native fish habitat). Large customers can buy renewable power in bulk at a discount
through Blue Sky QS.
Enrollment in Blue Sky is optional and customers can increase their participation or withdraw at any time. For more information
or to sign up for Blue Sky, go to www.pacificpower.net/bluesky
