Dayton Blue Sky Community Challenge
You can help Dayton meet its renewable energy goals by enrolling in Pacific Power's Blue Sky program during the Blue Sky community challenge.
The city of Dayton, Dayton Chamber of Commerce and Pacific Power are challenging all community members - residents and businesses of Columbia County to join them in supporting renewable energy by enrolling in the Blue Sky program between July and November 2009.

The official challenge goal is to double current levels of participation in Pacific Power's Blue Sky program en route to becoming as EPA Green Power Community.
It's up to you!
We need just 30 Dayton residents and businesses to enroll in the program. Meeting the challenge goal translates to community members collectively helping to create environmental benefits equivalent to not driving nearly 300,000 miles each year.*
Your community is waiting for you
Dayton has already demonstrated a commitment to the environment. In fact your community has seen the benefits associated with bringing wind farms on-line. Pacific Power has purchased renewable energy certificates from Hopkins Ridge wind farm on behalf of Blue Sky customers. Hopkins Ridge is located just 15 miles northeast of Dayton, and its 83 Vestas v-80 1.8 MW Turbines can create an average annual output of about 456,000 megawatt hours, sufficient to meet the power needs of 40,000 households.
Take the challenge today!
You can step up and join the challenge right now. For as little as $1.95 each month, you can support renewable energy and be part of the pride-building, city-wide challenge.
*The environmental benefits figures are based on the average non-base load generation emissions from the Western Energy Coordinating Council (WECC) region, as updated December 2008, and on data and calculations provided by the U .S. Environmental Protection Agency. The number of cars off the road assumes that every new customer purchases one block each month for one year.
