Lancaster Water Reclamation Plant
Serving a population of approximately 160,000 people, the water reclamation plant in Lancaster, California provides primary and secondary treatment for 16 million gallons of wastewater each day. The treatment process results in wastewater solids that are anaerobically digested (broken down by bacteria) producing methane gas, which is then used to produce electricity.
Biomass type: Harvested combustible gases from anaerobically digested wastewater solids.
