California Solar Incentive Program
Program Overview
Pacific Power's California Solar Incentive Program (CSIP) was recently approved by the California Public Utility Commission. CSIP is designed to provide Pacific Power customers, both residential and commercial, an upfront incentive for a portion of the initial cost of installing their photovoltaic (PV) system. The incentive will be paid after installation on a per watt basis, based on the expected performance of the installed system.
Applications are now being accepted.
Incentive Overview
CSIP is designed to provide an expected performance based incentive (EPBI). The EPBI will be paid up front; based on the expected performance of the
system as it is installed. In order to compute the EPBI, a computer program analyzes the components installed, the solar factor at the installed location
and the tilt and azimuth of the installed system. After the system is successfully interconnected and field verified the EPBI will be paid in one payment.
Incentive Amount
CSIP is designed to provide a higher incentive initially, decreasing in seven steps over the life of the program. Effective July 1, 2011, the incentive starts at $2/watt, with the incentive decreasing by 25 percent through each of the seven stages. Tax exempt entities will also receive an additional $.75/watt, to help offset their inability to receive any federal tax rebates on their solar installation.
