The time-of-use program runs during June, July and August and allows participants to pay a lower price for power used during “off-peak” hours, which is any time outside of 2 to 6 p.m., on weekdays. Energy use that is not shifted to “off-peak” hours is subject to a higher price than the standard irrigation rate.

Status for the 2017 irrigation season

Pacific Power's California Time-of-Use pilot program for irrigation customers will continue in 2017 for current participants. The program is not currently enrolling new participants. The program allows irrigators to save on their power bills by shifting use to off-peak times when prices are lower.

A reminder that pilot participants should shift their energy usage out of the designated on-peak period. The on-peak period is Monday through Friday, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the months of June, July and August. All other hours during those months are off-peak, including weekends and the Fourth of July. Second and third year pilot participants are not eligible for a guarantee against higher bills so it is important to avoid usage during the on-peak period.

Participants who wish to remove themselves from the pilot should contact Pacific Power’s Irrigation Hotline toll free at 1-800-715-9238, Monday through Saturday, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
