Oregon Irrigation Time-of-Use Pilot
The Oregon Irrigation Time-of-Use Pilot is an optional rate Pacific Power is offering to irrigation customers. Rates under the pilot are time-based – in other words during certain times, which are called “on-peak,” energy usage will cost more and during other times, which are called “off-peak,” energy usage will cost less.
You can save money by participating in the pilot by shifting your energy usage out of the on-peak period and into the off-peak period or by simply reducing your usage in the on-peak period.
Status for the 2016 irrigation season
Pacific Power asked the Oregon and California public utility commissions to expand a pilot program for Klamath irrigation customers that is testing the interest, willingness and ability of irrigation customers to shift the times when they pump. The program allows irrigators to save on their power bills by shifting use to off-peak times when prices are lower.
On April 21, 2016, the Oregon Public Utility Commission approved Pacific Power's request to add 25 Pacific Power Klamath irrigation customers in Oregon, up from the 95 who were eligible to participate during the 2015 irrigation season, bringing the total eligible meters to 120.
Pacific Power will communicate directly with all eligible irrigation customers to provide information on how to participate. Any irrigator who participated in 2015 will have the ability to remain in the pilot for another year and the new slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. If customers have a meter/pump enrolled in the Time-of-Use pilot, that meter cannot be enrolled in the irrigation Load Control pilot.
