Bend Habitat ReStore

Habitat Restore -Bend

The Bend Area Habitat for Humanity (BAHFH)  provides affordable housing services for low-income families and strives to incorporate sustainability in all projects and practices. This includes operation on the Bend Habitat ReStore which diverts, repurposes and reclaims nearly 3 million pounds of goods and materials annually.

In 2015, BAHFH completed the installation of a 56.4-kilowatt solar project at the ReStore, consisting of 132 roof-mounted panels and 52 panels mounted to a unique awning structure on the south side of the store. This array utilized Oregon-made equipment and is expected to meet roughly all of the ReStore's power needs. Operating cost savings will be applied directly to BAHFH’s low-income home construction and repair projects including more solar installations for these homes.
