Lake County Library District

Lake County Library provides inviting community spaces to nurture young readers, explore stories and information, and connect with others. The project is a roof mounted 23.4-kilowatt solar PV installation which will provide almost 30% of the power needs of the library annually. This savings will enable the library to invest more tax dollars directly into public library services rather than overhead.

The library serves the entire population of Lake County with 4 branches in Lakeview, Paisley, Silver Lake, and Christmas Valley. Services include books and movies for check out, meeting rooms, children and teen programs, as well as many online resources, including health, business, history, garden, and research information for students.

This Blue Sky project is a 22.6 kilowatt, roof-mounted solar PV installation. The location is well-suited for solar, with an unshaded, south-facing roof.

The library building was designed and built 4 years ago to be energy efficient. Adding a solar installation will reduce energy costs, helping fund more programs and will give this educational institution another opportunity to engage its citizens through solar education.
