Oregon Institute of Marine Biology Marine Life Center – University of Oregon

This 10-kilowatt wind turbine stands over 140 feet tall on the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology (OIMB) campus in Charleston, Oregon. The first of it’s kind  in Coos County, it serves as a highly visible demonstration project for visitors, students, faculty, and community members. An educational kiosk at the Charleston Marine Life Center, the campus museum and aquarium, helps visitors learn more about wind power technology and the great potential to harness wind resources along the Oregon Coast.
