Port of Columbia – Blue Mountain Station Artisan Food Center

Port of Columbia Blue Mountain Station Solar

As the first Blue Sky community project in Dayton, the 128-panel rooftop solar installation serves as a highly visible demonstration project for shoppers, tourists, and the community at large. The installation satisfies a portion of the building’s power needs with onsite, emissions-free energy and helps keep operating costs low for the Port. In addition to Blue Sky customers, the Port partnered with WW-FREE on this project, a Washington non-profit utilizing community solar projects to reduce the costs of local government operations.

Blue Mountain Station, home to the Port of Columbia County's Artisan Food Center in Dayton, Washington, is an important part of Columbia County’s economic development strategy. The facility is designed for LEED Silver certification, supports eco-friendly artisan food processing and focuses on boosting small-scale agriculture and tourism in the region.
