Wallowa County Biomass Campus

Wallowa Feed System

The Integrated Biomass Energy Center project is a demonstration of a 100-kilowatt Combined Heat and Power (CHP) facility, co-located with feedstock suppliers as well as thermal and power customers for distributed generation in Northeast Oregon.

This project is a key component of a natural resource-based economic development plan in Wallowa County and offers an educational opportunity linking the benefits of CHP to the environment and energy in rural areas with biomass resources.

This project is anticipated to generate more than 600,000 kilowatt-hours of biomass energy each year to be primarily used on-site and the byproduct heat will be used by campus tenants to cure firewood and woodchips.
