West Valley Junior High School

The 9.75-kilowatt solar array is mounted to West Valley Junior High School in Yakima, Washington was installed on the cafeteria roof in 2014. As a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) focused school, these 36, highly visible solar panels expose students, faculty, staff, and visitors to renewable energy technology and enhance the Green Sustainable Design curriculum required for all students.

The project also includes an interactive solar monitoring kiosk and exterior signage explaining how the PV system works to students, faculty, and parents.
