Using Your Reusable Envelope

Pacific Power has adopted a reusable envelope for your monthly statement that converts to a return envelope to mail back your payment.

We know this is a change for our customers, so we have developed an informational video and frequently asked questions, shown below.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is this envelope being implemented?

Sustainability measures and environmental conservation are very important initiatives to us. Pacific Power is adopting a reusable envelope as a way to reduce waste while helping the environment (PDF) and keeping electricity prices low. By switching to reusable envelopes, each year we will help conserve 3,216 trees and 3,729,982 gallons of water, which is equal to six Olympic-size swimming pools*.

Will I still receive a return envelope with my bill?

The envelope in which you receive your bill is your new return envelope. There will be easy-to-use instructions on the back of the envelope and please feel free to call us anytime, toll free, at 1-888-221-7070 for additional help.

How does the envelope work?
  1. Open the back of the envelope by pulling the indicated tear strip. No need to pull off the portion still glued to the envelope, it can stay on the envelope.
  2. Pull off the hanging security tab and remove your statement.
  3. When you are ready to re-use the envelope, insert your payment stub with your check, making sure the payment address shows correctly in the window.
  4. Moisten the sealing flap and fold the flap directly onto the original sealing strip, pressing firmly to seal the envelope. Apply postage and resend.

Why is the envelope upside down?

The envelope is upside down to ensure proper processing through the United States Postal Service mailing system.

What if I open my envelope with a letter opener, will it still work?

It depends. As long as you are able to reseal the envelope using the sealing flap, it will still work. If your envelope is damaged, it will be difficult to reseal and we recommend using your own envelope or an alternative payment method.

What paper material is the envelope made of?
