Bill Discounts with CARE Program
Pacific Power offers income-qualifying residential customers a 20 percent discount on monthly bills through its California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) program.
Customers on life-support or those requiring medical care may also be eligible for a special medical allowance that can lower your bill.
Earned Income Tax Credit
Make sure you are getting all your tax benefits this year. If you qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit – or EITC – you could pay less federal tax, no tax or even get a tax refund. That’s money you can put toward other uses.
EITC is a credit for workers with low to moderate income who meet certain requirements. There are special rules that assist individuals receiving disability benefits and members of the military as well.
Low-Income Weatherization Program
Pacific Power partners with local agencies to provide free weatherization services to income-qualifying homeowners and renters living in single-family homes, mobile homes or apartments. A variety of measures can be installed to save energy. These include insulation, energy-efficient showerheads, compact fluorescent light bulbs and more. All of these measures are designed to lower bills, while keeping your home comfortable.
