This year marks a momentous occasion for Pacific Power, and most importantly, for our valued Blue Sky participants: the 25th anniversary of the Blue Sky program! A quarter-century ago, Blue Sky was launched with a vision to empower customers like you to support renewable energy development in the West. It was, and remains, a voluntary program designed for those who want to do more to drive demand for cleaner power sources. Your sustained commitment and support have helped shape the landscape of sustainable energy in our region for 25 years, and for that, we extend our sincerest thanks.
Since its launch, the Blue Sky program has achieved remarkable milestones, all thanks to the continuous participation of customers like you. Blue Sky has grown into a robust program with over 158,000 active participants making an impressive collective impact. Since 2000, participants have supported over 14,966,327 megawatt-hours of regional renewable energy. That's enough to power 1,502,643* homes for a year!
Beyond that, your dedication has also fostered impactful community-based renewable energy projects throughout Oregon, California and Washington, enhancing local sustainability efforts and encouraging community empowerment. Many Oregon participants have also supported native fish and habitat restoration through our partnership with The Freshwater Trust.
As we celebrate this milestone, the Blue Sky program continues to look forward, building on the legacy that you've helped create. We are excited about the next chapter of Blue Sky and the continued opportunity to partner with our customers in building a cleaner, more resilient energy future. Thank you again for making this milestone possible!
