PORTLAND, Ore. — Across the West, local organizations are dedicated to supporting their most vulnerable neighbors and are striving to create safe, supportive and healthy communities where everyone can thrive. To help turn these aspirations into reality, the Pacific Power Foundation is donating $312,675 in new grant funding to organizations throughout Oregon, Washington and Northern California.
The grants will support a variety of programs, including those that provide meals for individuals experiencing food insecurity, offer shelter for the unhoused, and facilitate healthcare for underserved communities. Additionally, there are initiatives aimed at enhancing public safety and providing services for teenagers, families, seniors, veterans, individuals with disabilities and survivors of child abuse and domestic violence.
"These local organizations are doing essential work that benefits everyone in our community,” said Ryan Flynn, director of the Pacific Power Foundation and president of Pacific Power. “This funding by the foundation will help amplify their efforts to support our neighbors and improve the day-to-day lives of people in all parts of our communities.”
Safety and wellness grants are awarded through one of four grant cycles offered by the Pacific Power Foundation each year. The foundation assists a diverse variety of organizations in the communities that Pacific Power serves.
