YAKIMA, Wash. — The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission approved changes to Pacific Power’s rates that will result in a 7.9% overall decrease on customers’ bills. A typical residential customer could see a decrease of $12.14 per month.
The Power Cost Adjustment Mechanism is a filing with the Washington UTC that is designed to help ensure customer rates reflect actual power costs over time.
"We understand affordability is a top concern for our customers,” said Ryan Flynn, Pacific Power president. “When the costs of delivering power go down, customers should see the benefit. With this adjustment, we’re pleased to share that our Washington customers will see a decrease on their bills just in time for the colder months when power usage increases.”
Pacific Power serves approximately 137,262 customers in Washington, primarily in the Yakima and Walla Walla areas. The rate changes go into effect on November 7.
