Pacific Power celebrates National Drive Electric Week

PORTLAND, Ore. — In celebration of National Drive Electric Week, Pacific Power hosted an EV Car show at the Lloyd Center Tower in Portland today. The event helped promote transportation electrification and EV adoption in Oregon.

Pacific Power partners and employees showcased some of the latest electric vehicles and electric bikes. Attendees had the opportunity to explore electric vehicle technology, connect with current EV drivers and gain firsthand insights into the electric vehicle experience. They experienced electric transportation, learned about the growing charging infrastructure in our region and checked out examples of the wide range of EVs available on the market.

Representatives from Portland Public Schools, Taking Ownership PDX and The Blueprint Foundation discussed some of the innovative projects funded by Pacific Power’s e-mobility grants, designed to support projects that advance electric transportation in underserved communities, including areas without ample access to public charging. In addition, the Oregon Electric Vehicle Association and Lloyd Eco District participated in the event.

"We're partnering with organizations and agencies across Oregon to promote electrification and provide cleaner, more sustainable transportation options that benefit both our environment and our economy," said Kate Hawley, senior customer solutions program manager at Pacific Power. "With federal, state and local incentives available for electric vehicle adoption, now is the perfect time to transition to clean transportation."
