Swift Forest Camp boat ramp to be closed temporarily for required ADA upgrade

COUGAR, Wash. — Work that will make the Swift Forest Camp boat ramp more accessible for people with mobility issues will force two temporary closures of the popular lake access facility over the next 30 days. The campground will remain open, but use of the picnic shelter will be limited for 10 days as part of the work.

Beginning Sept. 8, the boat ramp will be closed during weekdays, but will remain open for public use on weekends through Sept. 13. A partial closure of the day use area/picnic shelter is also scheduled from Sept. 8 through Sept. 18.

These partial closures are to accommodate the installation of an Americans with Disabilities Act compliant vault toilet and play area. Closed areas will be barricaded from public entry.

From Sept. 14 through Sept. 30, there will be a full closure of the boat ramp and parking lot in order to complete renovations for ADA access and associated parking and path paving features.

PacifiCorp recognizes the inconvenience these short term closures may create for users of the facilities. However, the closures are the only way to complete the required work that will expand the accessibility of the facilities to more people in a timely and safe manner. Thank you for your patience during construction.
