Cool Keeper

At Pacific Power, we are always working to find new ways for our community to use energy wisely. Participating in Cool Keeper is one way you can help.

Cool Keeper helps manage the flow of power seamlessly in response to big shifts in energy use, ensuring our homes stay cool all summer long.

Your participation benefits the environment and keeps electricity costs down. It’s free to join, plus the average household receives $30 in bill credits every year!

How it works

The Cool Keeper device is connected to your central air conditioning unit outside your home. It helps reduce energy use during peak demand times in the summer by briefly cycling your air conditioner or heat pump off.

When activated, the device pauses your A/C for 7 minutes on average, while your unit's fan continues to circulate air to maintain comfort. Most participants don’t notice a change in how their home feels during these brief events.
