With Optimal Time Rewards, property managers and residents can opt-in to earn incentives for optimizing energy use without impacting hot water availability. Our program makes it simple for you!
How the program works:
- A smart device will be connected to the water heater.
- During a high-demand event, the device remotely cycles the water heater on and off for a short time.
- Before cycling a water heater off, the smart device heats the water in the tank to ensure there is plenty of hot water to last through the high-demand event.
- When the event is over, the device cycles the water heater back on.
- After a resident enrolls in the program, they cannot opt-out of a high-demand event while it’s in progress. Residents may, however, choose to leave the program at any time without affecting the property manager’s status in the program, or requiring the device be removed.

*There is no program incentive for residents in a master-metered property, but property managers are encouraged to provide residents with an incentive to opt-in, and keep device active.
Steps to enroll
- Sign up to connect with a program representative.
- Property managers sign an agreement with the program provider, Armada Power, accepting terms and conditions and agreeing to use the program lease addendums. This enables program participation for residents.
- Resident processes and incentives differ depending on whether the property is multi-metered or master-metered (single meter for all units).
- For all properties, residents must opt-in through a lease addendum to activate the device and participate in events.
