Irrigation equipment incentives in California

  1. Obtain an irrigation incentive application from us or a Wattsmart Business Vendor.
  2. Purchase and install a qualifying equipment at an eligible location.
  3. Submit your incentive application with IRS Form W-9.
  4. Receive incentive check within 45 days of completion of step 3.

Farm and dairy equipment incentives

  1. You submit an application: Before you start your project, contact us and complete a general application so we can confirm eligibility. We require pre-approval and may need to verify existing equipment and program influence on your project.
  2. We can help with your application: We can help with the technical aspects of your application and walk you through the process.
  3. You sign an incentive offer: We provide an incentive offer for you to sign before you order equipment. You provide your tax ID in a completed W-9 form so our program administrator can prepare a 1099-Misc. (if required) following the incentive payment.
  4. You implement your project: Purchase and then install qualifying equipment at an eligible location.
  5. Submit project cost documentation: Send invoices with a breakdown of materials and labor. Then, contact us for a post-installation inspection.
  6. You receive a cash incentive: Congratulations! Receive incentive check within 45 days of completion of step 5.

Irrigation time-of-use pilot

The time-of-use pilot is an optional rate for participating irrigation customers. The program is not currently enrolling new participants.

Existing pilot participants should shift their energy use away from the peak afternoon hours.

  • On-peak: Monday through Friday, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in June, July and August.
  • Off-peak: All other hours are off-peak, including weekends and the Fourth of July.
