Safe, reliable power

We know our neighbors rely on us, and that’s why we work day-in and day-out to power our communities.

We’re always improving our system to deliver safe, reliable service so you can focus on your day.

Explore the steps we’re taking to bring you the power you count on year-round.

Strengthening our grid

We’re investing $2.5 billion across our six-state system in wildfire mitigation strategies over the coming years. This includes installing fire-resistant poles, improving the resilience of power lines and harnessing real-time data from an advanced network of weather stations.

Tree pruning

To cut down on problems before they start, our team of skilled arborists prune vegetation, check the health of trees near our equipment and maintain safe corridors around power lines.

Outage alerts

If there’s a service interruption, we will notify you so you can plan your day. You decide how you want to be notified – by text, email or phone.

Keeping our communities safe

Brief service interruptions

Power flickers or momentary outages can sometimes happen. Due to a number of factors inside and outside your home, the voltage of your electric service can vary slightly. Most of the time you won't even notice these voltage variations, but electronic equipment can be very sensitive to even small, split-second electricity fluctuations.

Devices such as uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and surge protectors can help protect your equipment from power fluctuations. Look for UL TVSS 1449 certification rating from an independent test lab such as UL (Underwriters Laboratories) or ETL (Electrical Testing Laboratories).

California reliability report

Each year, we compile a report of our system performance in California, which tracks reliability metrics and includes areas where we'll focus to improve. Review the most recent report
